Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. It is permanent, but can bring with it some long-term effects, just like Parenting and Adoption. There is also a lot of controversy around this issue from those who believe it is a moral issue, and some who believe it is simply a medical procedure. Only you can decide for sure if Abortion is right or wrong for you. We're here simply to give you the facts.

The most common reasons a woman chooses abortion are:

  • She is not ready to become a parent
  • She cannot afford a baby
  • She doesn't want to be a single parent
  • She doesn't want anyone to know she has had sex or is pregnant
  • She is too young or too immature to have a child
  • She has all the children she wants
  • Her husband, partner, or parent wants her to have an abortion
  • She or the fetus has a health problem
  • She was a survivor of rape or incest.

These are all factors to consider, and they will be questions you can bring up with your counselor. Notice the tone of these "reasons" however. Most are related to outside circumstances that do not have anything to do with how you feel about your baby. Most traditional parents will tell you that these factors are never perfect.

Such reasons are usually used by abortion providers to make young women feel they have no other choice, when, in reality, Adoption answers all of these questions too.
